Our Founder

​

Kelly S. Moody is the president of Kelly S. Moody Advancement Consulting (dba Moody Advancement Consulting), a firm dedicated to enhancing the impact of mission-driven nonprofits through strategic fundraising and philanthropic advising. Kelly partners with leaders to elevate fundraising capabilities, foster inclusive collaboration with teams and stakeholders, and amplify nonprofit missions.

 

Previously, Kelly was Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she significantly increased philanthropic revenue, achieving the highest fundraising results in a decade. She also led the successful $10M "Trustees Scholars of Tomorrow" campaign for student financial aid, and spearheaded a mission statement refresh and rebranding initiative with the campaign "Teachers College. Where True Change Begins."

At the International Rescue Committee, Kelly served as Vice President for USA Philanthropy, raising over $60MM annually, with $40MM in unrestricted funds. She improved donor engagement, boosted major gift solicitations by over 55%, and restructured teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Her leadership during COVID ensured fundraising set a new team record high.

 

Kelly also held senior roles at New York University, where she directed a comprehensive international fundraising program and secured resources for university-wide initiatives. Earlier in her career, she advanced development efforts at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, Baruch College/CUNY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Bard Graduate Center.

 

Kelly holds a B.A. and M.A. from New York University and was a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught fundraising fundamentals as an adjunct lecturer at NYU's Wagner School of Public Service.
